Once upon a time ...
There was a marsh created by Humans during the Middle Ages, made of fields and vegetable farms surrounded by canals, small islands where charming small houses and large ponds with exceptional fauna and flora have emerged. A site where even nowadays several dozens of houses are only accessible by boat and where only a few decades ago pupils used to go to school not by bus but using a small boat. A huge area very close to the town where one feels like being in the middle of natural surroundings. A stress-free environment away from the urban activity where only the chirping of birds will break the silence, a place with long lasting traditions and good work ethics.
The vegetables are cultivated on site and sold directly. You can discover the marsh by walking, biking or by boat…. Don’t forget to go and visit the last workshop of «bacôves» and «escutes» (the traditional boats used on the marsh).
